Choi Si Won is a Korean pop singer and actor managed by SM Entertainment. He is a member of the boy band Super Junior and its subgroup, Super Junior-M. Choi was scouted in front of his high school at the age of 16 and asked to audition at a casting call. He secretly auditioned and only told his parents after he had passed. Although he was being trained as a solo artist, Choi debuted as part of the 12-member Super Junior in 2005 after he had already had a few minor roles in television dramas. In addition to his music activities, Choi continued to act in films and television dramas in both Korea and in Chinese-language productions, gaining acclaim for his acting. Choi is so popular in China that he is one of only four South Korean artists to be featured on a Chinese postage stamp! He is best known for his role in the 2006 Hong Kong historical action film "A Battle of Wits" as young Prince Liang Shi. A wax figure of his was unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Hong Kong on November 19, 2015 He enlisted as a conscripted policeman on 19 November 2015 and completed his mandatory military service on 18 August 2017.
