Dean Fujioka was born in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan, and finished college at Seattle University, Seattle, Washington. He is fluent in English, Japanese, and Mandarin. He is well known in the anime community for singing the opening song to "Yuri On Ice", "History Maker." Dean married an Indonesian woman in 2012.
