Park Je Un is a South Korean Nordic combined skier. He graduated from Sangji Daegwallyeong High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Korea National Sport University. He started with cross-country skiing at the age of 7 due to his father's insistence. He discovered Nordic combined, a sport that requires both cross-country skiing and ski jumping, and began learning both disciplines at age 12. His mother won a silver medal in field hockey during the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. In 2013, he became the first ever Nordic combined national athlete but he trains in Finland as he remains the only national representative of the sport and the government does not even provide a salary for a coach. He has participated in the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and Beijing, respectively.
